Don’t forget to license your dog(s) by April 1st if you haven’t already done so. Tags are issued for each calendar year and expire on December 31st. Spayed/neutered pets dogs are $5.00; otherwise, the cost is $10.00. Kennel licenses are $50.00 for up to 12 dogs; each dog thereafter is $5.00. A current rabies vaccination is required. There is a late fee of $5.00 if your dog is licensed after April 1st (unless this is a new dog, of course!) Contact your treasurer for information – 715-466-4665.
Collection for 2017 taxes will soon be ending. Make sure your payments are postmarked (or delivered to the treasurer) by January 31st, 2018. Notice is hereby given that the February Primary Election will be on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the Gull Lake Town Hall. Ballots will be cast for Justice of the Supreme Court for the State of Wisconsin. The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. If you have any questions concerning your polling place, contact the municipal clerk, Lolita Olson, at 715-558-2787 or 715-466-4665. The Gull Lake Town Hall is accessible to elderly and disabled voters.
Call or text your clerk, Lolita Olson, at 715-558-2787 to make an appointment if you wish to vote absentee in the upcoming election. For the February 20th Spring Primary the deadline for applying for an application by mail is Thursday, Feb. 15th and for in-person absentee is Friday, Feb. 16th.
The annual Board of Review will be held this Saturday, May 20th, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the Town Hall. A short meeting will be held just prior (11:30 a.m.) to the BOR for the purposes of reviewing/approving a painting contract for the town hall – a meeting notice/agenda has been posted separately for this purpose.
The Regular Town Board Meeting will follow our Annual Town Meeting on the third Tuesday in April. This will mark the beginning of the new two year term of office for our local elected officials.
Plan on exercising your voting rights at the April 4th 2017 Spring Election. Ballots will be cast for Superintendent of Public Instruction, Justice of the Supreme Court for Wisconsin, Spooner School Board Members and last, but not least, our own Town of Gull Lake Officials. Those folks on the ballot include Katherine Berndt, Chair; Tom Thorp and Cari Johnson for Supervisors, Bob Morgan for Constable and Lolita Olson for Clerk/Treasurer.
